Composer Hiroyuki Sawano, who won the silver medal for his background music for "Attack on Titan", attended the award ceremony held in Tokyo on the same day.

Hiroyuki Sawano was very happy that his work received this honor: "I dare say that the reason I was able to win this award is 100% due to the huge sales of the animation "Attack on Titan", so I am a little unsure whether I can deserve this award."

The JASRAC Award is held by the Japanese Music Copyright Association, JASRAC, to recognize the achievements of music authors and publishers who have received the most copyright allocations in the previous year. The gold award went to the girl idol group AKB48's "Love Fortune Cookie (Original Name: Love Fortune Cookie)", while the bronze award went to "Lupin the Third Theme Song '78".

AKB48's "Fortune Cookie of Love" not only sold over a million copies as a single and as paid music download, but it was also very popular in karaoke and could be heard in many places; the sales of the background music for "Attack on Titan" continued to rise mainly because the sales of the comics included in the DVD were always very high; the bronze award-winning "Lupin the Third Theme Song '78" was won because computers using this song sold very well.

In addition, the overseas copyright management group also awarded the "International Award" to the Japanese work "Dragon Ball Z" background music (TV animation version), which received the most revenue, and the "Foreign Work Award" to the overseas work with the most distribution, "LET IT GO from the DISNEY film "FROZEN"", the interlude of the Disney animated film "Frozen". It is worth mentioning that the background music of "Dragon Ball Z" (TV animation version) won the "JASRAC Award" silver award in 2004 and also won an international award in 2008.
