CATDOLL: Japanese media survey: More than 80% of Japanese college students have never read the "Dragon Ball" comics

When it comes to the comic "Dragon Ball" written by Akira Toriyama, many anime fans have read it, and this comic is definitely a classic. However, among the new generation of Japanese college students, few have read this work. Now a Japanese media has conducted a special survey and found that more than 80% of Japanese college students have not read the "Dragon Ball" comics. The reason is that the serialization of "Dragon Ball" has long ended, and young people nowadays don't want to read those old comics.

There were 403 college students in this survey, and only 64 of them said they had watched Dragon Ball, accounting for 15.9%. There were 339 people who had not watched it, accounting for 84.1%. Those who had watched it said that they were influenced by people around them, recommended by classmates, or watched it with brothers and sisters, and thus became interested in this masterpiece. Some people thought the animation was very interesting and wanted to read the original manga, or watched it to kill time at school or in manga teahouses. Once the passion for "Dragon Ball" was ignited, they wanted to continue watching it or play cosplay, which was also a common topic among classmates. Students who had not read the manga said that "Dragon Ball" has 42 episodes, and the story is too long and they don't have the patience to watch it, so they can just watch the animation. Some people said that they are not interested in this kind of old boy's comics, and now is no longer the era of "Dragon Ball".

Japanese netizens saw this and said that many people have not seen classics like "Astro Boy", "Q-Taro", "Re:Cyberpunk 009" after all, the times have changed, people's hobbies have changed, and there are more and more comics now, and there are more ways to learn about the works. But classics are always classics, and animations are generally different from comics in various ways. If you want to better understand a work, it is better to start with comics.
