CATDOLL: Comcast officially acquires DreamWorks Animation and looks forward to new development

We have previously reported that DreamWorks Animation will be acquired by Comcast. After nearly four months of waiting, Comcast Group finally completed the acquisition of DreamWorks Animation for $3.8 billion. After that, DreamWorks will be affiliated with Universal Film and Entertainment Group under NBC Universal. After that, DreamWorks will be officially delisted from NASDAQ, ending its 12-year history as an independent company.

Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO and co-founder of DreamWorks Animation, will become chairman of DreamWorks New Media and concurrently serve as an advisor to NBC Universal. After the acquisition was officially completed, Jeffrey Katzenberg also sent a memo to all employees of DreamWorks Animation, thanking them for their work over the past 22 years and expressing high hopes for the future of DreamWorks.
