CATDOLL: Is the end of lolita control? Japan makes possession of child pornography a crime

The "Law on Restrictions and Punishments on Child Prostitution, Child Pornography and the Protection of Children (Child Pornography Law)" implemented in Japan on July 15 last year has attracted a lot of attention and has undergone many discussions and revisions. However, just recently, the authorities finally announced the following notice: Starting from July, people who possess child pornography will also be punished.

Last year's legal provisions stipulated that the penalty for "simple possession of items" was one year in prison, and this provision will officially come into effect on July 15 this year.

However, regarding the child pornography law, last year, there was a lot of debate due to the vague definition of "child pornography". For example, the revised article last year stated that "articles that show children without clothes or only partially clothed, especially those that expose or emphasize the child's sexual organs (genitals or surrounding areas, buttocks or breasts) and thus arouse sexual desire are considered child pornography" (Article 2, Paragraph 3, Item 3 of the Child Pornography Law). However, there are no specific explanations for "what does 'especially' refer to?" "What is the scope of the surrounding areas?" "What exactly is emphasis?" "Whose sexual desire is illegal to arouse?" and so on.

But no matter what, this penalty will be implemented in July, but it may be worth paying attention to under what circumstances the penalty will be imposed!
