Editor: The animation "Shi Leng" is a very popular online drama, why do you want to make a movie version?

Bu Dong: The main reason is that we hope to let everyone see Shi Leng in different forms. The characteristic of Shi Leng animation is that each episode is only a few minutes long, which is very short. So we had an idea: if it can be made into a movie, about 100 minutes, will everyone feel comfortable and satisfied after watching it.

Editor: Compared with similar works on the market, can the production technology of the film itself, such as the picture and special effects, represent the animation production level of this team?

Bu Dong: The graphics and special effects are of a relatively average standard. The level of animation production is related to many factors. Overall, "Shi Leng" cannot fully represent the current production level. Due to various current restrictions, including the time I often mentioned to the director, it is difficult to control the level. Some parents told me before that there are fighting scenes at the end of the movie, which may mislead children. I said that in fact, with our limited budget, there are not many fights. (Laughs)

Bu Dong: That's for sure. The production standards of Hollywood blockbusters also require a lot of investment. But for "Shi Leng", in an industry with no fixed numbers, rationality is the first priority. We have to consider controlling costs and ensure that no matter how the box office is after the release, there will be no loss, so that this work can continue. We certainly have many ideals and dreams, but we are still in reality.

Editor: The actual release date of the movie is much earlier than the original date. Does the advance release date mean that you are not confident? Have you ever made the worst estimate of the box office performance?

Bu Dong: The worst estimate is about 30 million. Regarding the advance release date, it was indeed announced at the beginning that it would be released on January 8, but it was also adjusted according to the real-time situation. We hope to let everyone see it as soon as possible, so if the theater can arrange the screening, we will advance it. Of course, we have also considered a lot, such as keeping up with the New Year's Day holiday, staggering the peak period of theater scheduling, etc.

Editor: After the release, the reviews from netizens and media were mixed. Did the production team anticipate the negative reviews? Did they feel sad?

Bu Dong: There will definitely be people who will criticize you. In the current animation market in China, no matter what you do, there will be people who will criticize you. (Laughs)

Editor: Although it has received mixed reviews, the box office results of "Shi Leng" after its release are indeed very good. It can be said that it has achieved a certain degree of success. So, in addition to the excellent original work, the efforts of relevant personnel, and the support of fans, what is the reason for the success of "Shi Leng" this time?

Bu Dong: I think there are two reasons for the success. The first is the serious attitude of the production team. It can be said that no matter what you do, it is the most basic to treat it with a serious attitude. The second reason is a good judgment of the market direction. First of all, we must correctly understand the market, and then judge whether our products are suitable for this market.

Editor: The impressive box office results are inseparable from the support of fans. Previous reports mentioned that there will be substantial benefits for fans. Is this a promise that will definitely be fulfilled?

Bu Dong: The director has promised to do the Paji dance if the revenue exceeds 100 million. Judging from the current trend, it shouldn’t be a problem to exceed 100 million, so the director is already rehearsing the dance. (Laughs)

Editor: The director promised that the creative team will dance together. So who are the creative team members? Will you also participate?

Bu Dong: I am a behind-the-scenes person. We haven't discussed who will be dancing yet (laughs). I can't make the decision for them. They will come to me when the time comes. Actually, I also want to trick him, but the director must have his own choice in mind (laughs).

Editor: Now that "Shi Leng" has achieved such success, will it continue to develop in the usual way of ACG works? For example, if there is a live-action version of the drama, will it launch a live-action TV series or movie version? Or even a novel version?

Bu Dong: We want to work hard in all aspects, but we are not familiar with the TV business, so we have to wait for the opportunity. It is not difficult to do it, but it is not easy to do it well. If it is not done well and disappoints everyone, it will be meaningless. So if we do it, we must do it well. The novelization is not very meaningful for "Shi Leng". We will choose some relatively reliable projects for development. For example, the Japanese version of the animation of "Shi Leng" invited famous Japanese voice actors to participate, and the production work has been almost completed.

Editor: Will there be a second part of the movie? Will there also be a Japanese version?

Bu Dong: There will definitely be a second part, but it is still being planned and there are still many uncertainties. We haven't considered the Japanese version yet, and we are also thinking about how to make it interesting for everyone, so please be patient and look forward to it.

Editor: Is there any specific news about the third season of the "Shi Leng" animation? Are there any other "Shi Leng" related works worth looking forward to in the near future?

Bu Dong: There will definitely be a third season. Please wait patiently, although we haven't started production yet. Our style is that you won't see it until the last minute. (Laughs) The next related work worth looking forward to is the game, which is currently undergoing a limited test without deleting the file. Bu Dong: There are many types of works on the platform now, which is also the current situation determined by the diversification of the market. We are optimistic about every work and hope to work hard for it. "Zhenhunjie", which is currently ranked fourth on the hot list, is worth looking forward to. For good works, it is most important to be able to receive good reviews and recognition from readers at the comic stage. We have always been standing from the perspective of a bystander.

Editor: Now the work has been made into a movie. The artistic value of a movie depends on its spiritual height, that is, its connotation. How high do you think the "spiritual height" of "Shi Leng" is?

Bu Dong: We didn’t deliberately elevate anything. It’s not easy for the general public to understand something that’s too profound. We just convey some more simple things, such as if you do something wrong, you have to bear the consequences, your children are your children no matter what, etc. Family love, love, friendship, are all very simple and conventional expressions. Things that are too profound don’t fit our positioning. Simple things are popular with the general public .

Editor: Will you choose to produce animations with "depth" in the future?

Bu Dong: Many people told me that "Shi Leng" as a "fast food" would not last long. But I said you are wrong. McDonald's is a fast food. How many years has it been open? Fast food is a form of dining. It does not mean that fast food means fast life and fast death. People's lives are very rich. We need different types of works to meet different needs. The entire market is also a diversified market. "Shi Leng" is not responsible for preaching big truths, not responsible for taking you to do brain activities, not doing pretentious things, "Shi Leng" is responsible for making people laugh. And our other work "Duan Nao" takes the route of suspense and reasoning, opening up brainstorming. Each work has its own style. Don't let a work carry too many things, otherwise it will not be itself.

Editor: So can we understand that "Shi Leng" is responsible for being funny, and "Duan Nao" is responsible for being pretentious? (laughs)

Bu Dong: (laughs) You can say that. After all, the work "Duan Nao" itself is very cool and of a very high standard. "Duan Nao" is also currently cooperating with "The Brain". Editor: Does the success of "Shi Leng" represent the victory of the fast-food animation industry? Will it affect the trend of domestic animation and lead to a large number of mindless followers?

Bu Dong: Before the release, many people said, "If "Shi Leng" is successful, we will follow suit." So we are not worried about following suit at all. The domestic environment is like this, and following suit is inevitable. But I think the important thing is: don't just do what others do, but also have your own thoughts and your own style, otherwise there will be a lot of "dead works". Now this is a barren industry, and everyone still needs to help each other. I also received a lot of blessings from industry partners for the release of "Shi Leng". I am very happy. In fact, everyone hopes that there will be works in this industry that can make a breakthrough. After all, Chinese animation has experienced a very long period of inherent form. Editor: Do the creative team attach great importance to profit and income? Or do they think that they are "responsible for the responsibility of opening up a new path for domestic animation and carrying out the dreams of animators."

Bu Dong: Actually, the happiest thing about doing a lot of things now is that everyone is doing it for the dream. This industry itself is actually not profitable for the time being, and everyone is willing to work harder for the dream. We can also find that those who can really make good content are also those who have this ideal. If you just want to make a lot of money, most of these projects will be very bad and will not be accepted.

Editor: What kind of animation do you really want to make? Is such animation suitable for the current market?

Bu Dong: YouYaoQi's mission is to make the entire animation commercially viable. As for artistic development, it is not YouYaoQi's job. This is the division of labor in the industry. The industry must first have money before it can do something willful.

Editor: So what do you think of the current market situation of domestic animation?

Bu Dong: We are at a very early stage, and there are some problems with our previous path and thinking. We hope to bring a different approach and way of thinking to the entire industry. If it can be accepted and recognized by everyone, I believe it will promote the industry.

Editor: As you have come this far, do you think the obstacle to the development of the domestic animation market is technology or something else? Do you think it is difficult to make animation in China?

Bu Dong: It can be said that there is no link in the whole process that is not difficult or easy. When you really face the problem, you will find that the problem is always more complicated than you imagined. Including the previous promotion of Hinabee mentioned that Hanazawa Kana participated in the dubbing, everyone was very happy. But in fact, it takes a lot of effort to think of various ways to achieve the goal. The only advantage of this industry is that it has "bottomed out". We are currently in the worst situation, but there is no need to worry that it will get worse. If it "bottoms out", it will definitely rebound, and this is a good opportunity. If it is a thriving situation, it will be difficult to achieve results.

Editor: Will the recent copyright disputes between online media have an impact on YouYaoQi's platform? YouYaoQi is also a cultural platform based on the Internet. What position will it take in this situation?

Bu Dong: First of all, our works are absolutely genuine. Secondly, the overall environment of the Internet is rapidly being standardized. As long as we handle some problems well and let everyone gradually accept and adapt to this trend, it will be fine.

Editor: We see Nezha in the play as a healthy and kind-hearted child. So from the perspective of a parent, do you hope that your child can be as good as Nezha?

Bu Dong: The child will definitely have his or her own personality, and it is enough to just be himself or herself. If there is a tendency for him or her to develop into a "Barbie", then just accept it! After all, he or she is your own child, that's all! (Laughs)

Bu Dong: (laughs) In this regard, we will still respect Han Wu's wishes. If he has such a wish, we will definitely support him. But I think Han Wu must want to focus on the comics themselves, after all, this is his dream.
