CATDOLL: The animated film "Born with Thorns" debuted at the Hangzhou Comic Exhibition and won two nominations for the Golden Monkey Award

Who says there is no spring for domestic animation? If you want to have fun, try new things. The animated film "Born with Thorns" will be released on the Chinese big screen at the end of 2015. It is supervised by Ding Sheng, the director of "Police Story 2013" and "Little Big Soldier", and directed by Huang Jianming, the producer of the Emmy-nominated animation "SUPERBOOK".

The animated film was recently unveiled at the new animated film promotion conference of the 11th China International Cartoon and Animation Festival held on the shores of West Lake in Hangzhou. It combines elements of adventure, friendship, growth, and unity. It tells the story of a fantasy little hedgehog "Big Hedgehog" who loses his memory due to an accident and searches for his true self in a family of gray pigeons.

The leading actors of "Born with Thorns" made their debut under the introduction of director Huang Jianming, staging a "great showdown between the good and the bad alliances". The villains "THINKMAN" and "AC members" who have never appeared before finally unveiled their mysteries. "This is a story about ourselves from an animal's perspective. 'Hedgehog' is actually you, the former you, the unique you," said director Huang Jianming.

It is reported that "Born with Thorns" uses the same level of CG animation technology as Hollywood cartoon companies, providing a professional creative environment for domestic first-line animation artists based on the European and American industrialized process. Director Huang Jianming, as the producer of "SUPERBOOK" which was once nominated for the Emmy Awards, also led an international team that had worked with CBN in the United States to create this original animated film, and became the only animation IP nominated for the "Most Promising Animation Image" and "Most Promising Comic" Golden Monkey Awards at this China International Cartoon and Animation Festival.
