CATDOLL: Kumota Haruko's "Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju" OAD version announced

According to the information published in the 23rd issue of the bimonthly magazine ITAN released today, the comic "Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju" created by cartoonist Kumoda Haruko and based on the theme of Rakugo has been decided to be animated! Previously, the official has announced that the 7th and 8th volumes of this single volume will be released on March 6 and August 7, 2015, respectively, and the special editions released at the same time will also be bundled with the animation DVDs "Yotaro Arc·Part 1" and "Yotaro Arc·Part 2". The voice actors of the OAD have been announced. The protagonist Yotaro will be voiced by Tomokazu Seki, and the last daimyo Yurakutei Yakumo will be voiced by Akira Ishida.

"Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju" is a manga serialized in the new fantasy manga magazine "ITAN" for women, and 6 volumes have been released so far. This work won the second place in the women's section of "This Manga is Great! 2012", and was also awarded the 38th Kodansha Manga Award (General Division) and the 17th Agency for Cultural Affairs Media Arts Festival Manga Division Excellence Award.

The story of this work takes place during the Showa and Genroku periods, and mainly describes the complex interpersonal relationships of storytellers (rakugoka). Characters full of personality will appear in this work, including the aloof daimyo Yakumo, Yotaro who insists on becoming his apprentice, and Koharu, the posthumous child of Sukeroku, an ally of Yakumo, who is known as the "unparalleled daimyo" and was raised by Yakumo.
