Another classic work by the author of "The Song of the Lamb" - "Yesterday's Song (original name: Iestadayotai)" - has its finale published in the youth manga magazine "GRAND JUMP" No. 13 (Shueisha) released today (June 3). This work, which has been serialized for about 18 years, has finally officially come to an end. "Yesterday's Song" tells the love story between the good-natured Yuzumi Rikuo who works part-time at a convenience store after graduating from college, Yuzumi's college friend Morinome Kiko who has a crush on Yuzumi, and Nonaka Haru who dropped out of high school and loves Yuzumi. The style is realistic and plain, and it has been very popular with readers since the beginning of serialization. This work has been serialized in "BUSINESS JUMP" (Shueisha) since 1997, and later moved to "GRAND JUMP" due to the suspension of "BUSINESS JUMP". The serialization speed of this work is very slow, usually less than 5 times a year, so the current manga single volume is only on sale up to volume 10. A novel version was also published in 2010. The manga's final volume 11 will be released this fall along with the second art collection of the work, "-YESTERDAYS-Ⅱ". On the day of release, a short story by Fuyume Kei will be published in GRAND JUMP. |
