CATDOLL: Tokyo Olympic ambassador sparks heated debate: Was Sun Wukong stolen? Liu Xiaolingtong denies it

The promotional video of the nine ambassadors for the Tokyo Olympics was released, and the selection of Sun Wukong has aroused the concerns of netizens. The Japanese anime "Dragon Ball" borrowed some content from "Journey to the West", one of the four great classics of my country, and coupled with the protagonist of the same name and the popularity of Wukong in "Dragon Ball", people are worried that the artistic image of Sun Wukong in China will be snatched away by foreign countries.

In response to this, Liu Xiao Ling Tong, the actor who played the Monkey King in the 1986 version of Journey to the West, said, "After all, that Monkey King is not the Monkey King in traditional Chinese culture. He will not be snatched away." He also said, "I hope that China's Monkey King Sun Wukong will become the mascot of the Winter Olympics. Because I think Sun Wukong embodies many Olympic spirits, such as hard work, enterprising, perseverance, and optimism."
