CATDOLL: A new animation of the light novel "Full Metal Panic" is in production

The light novel "Full Metal Panic" by Japanese writer Shoji Gato has been adapted into three seasons of animation, but recently there was news that a new animation is in production; since it has only been announced that the new animation is being produced, it is not certain whether it is the theatrical version or the fourth season of the TV animation version.

At today's Fantasia Bunko Thanksgiving 2015, the author of the "Full Metal Panic" novel, Shoji Gatou, the voice actor of Chidori Kaname, Satsuki Yukino, and Yukana Nogami, the voice actor of Tessa, and Atsushi Ito, the producer of the Full Metal Panic animation series, appeared. After Shoji Gatou announced that the new animation project of "Full Metal Panic" was underway, Satsuki Yukino and Yukana Nogami both complained: "We have waited too long! They have been talking about making a new animation until now."

Because the third season of All Gold Animation was a TV animation in 2005, it has been ten years since the third season, and the producer Atsushi Ito vaguely stated that the broadcast time of the new animation is "before the 2020 Tokyo Olympics". Since no footage of the new animation was broadcast on the scene, it can be seen that the official does have a plan, but it has not yet entered the specific production stage. By 2020, the new animation can become the 15th anniversary commemorative work of the third season of All Gold. In addition, producer Atsushi Ito did not specify whether the production company of the new animation is GONZO, Kyoto or a new animation production company. Atsushi Ito himself is a producer of Kadokawa Group.

The work is basically a semi-fictional world based on the real world from the late 20th century to the early 21st century, but the Cold War has not ended, the Soviet Union has not disintegrated, and China is divided into capitalist communist North and South with the Yangtze River as the boundary. Germany has been unified in the 1990s (see "Burning One Man Force"), and because of the existence of controllable nuclear fusion technology, its technological level is slightly higher than the real world.
