CATDOLL: "Calabash Brothers" will be made into a live-action movie, which will inevitably ruin our childhood

Now many domestic film companies have set their sights on classic animation adaptations, probably because they think it would be a pity if these good classic IPs were not used. On February 29, two well-known domestic film companies, Anle Films and Shanghai Film Group, announced that they would jointly establish "Shanghai Film Anle Film Company". The first project after the establishment of the company is a live-action version of "Calabash Brothers" adapted from the classic animation IP of Shanghai Film. As soon as this news came out, netizens were very worried, feeling that another childhood classic was going to be ruined.

Calabash Brothers is a 13-episode paper-cut animation created by Shanghai Fine Arts Film Studio in 1986. It tells the story of seven brothers with extraordinary abilities who fight against goblins one after another to save their loved ones. In the 30 years since its creation, the film has become a classic image in the hearts of the 70s, 80s and even 90s audiences in China. The cartoon characters such as Calabash Brothers, Scorpion Spirit and Snake Spirit are not only indelible memories in the hearts of the Chinese people, but also have become frequent guests in many domestic imitation show programs. Netizens have also begun to speculate about the casting of the actors in the play. The film company said it plans to invite many popular stars to star in the film.

Thirty years after the birth of the animation, "Calabash Brothers" will be put on the screen again, and it will be shot in real life. Will it "ruin childhood"? Doubts naturally follow. However, producer Jiang Zhiqiang said that it was the challenge of the film that attracted him to take on this important task. Jiang Zhiqiang also revealed at the press conference that he plans to make "Calabash Brothers" into a series of films, and will do his best to recreate the classics and not disappoint the audience. Now that the film has been approved, Anime Star will continue to pay attention to the follow-up news of this work.
