On April 14, Toho, a giant in the Japanese animation industry, released its 2015 financial report, which pointed out that the company's revenue from animation production increased significantly last year, with works such as "Blood Blockade Battlefront" and "Himu! Umaru-chan" making outstanding contributions.
In the report, Toho officially stated that the revenue from animation production last year was 4.095 billion yen , an increase of 72.4% over 2014. The hot sales are inseparable from excellent works. Among them, TV animations such as "Blood Blockade Battlefront", "Himu! Umaru-chan" and "Haikyuu!!" produced by Toho have made important contributions to revenue generation and occupied a vital position in the Japanese animation market.
On the other hand, Toho's revenue from theatrical animation is also very considerable. Theatrical animation such as "Detective Conan: Sunflowers of Inferno", "Youkai no Yaiba" and "Kizumonogatari: The Iron-Blooded" played a prominent role in improving the annual financial report figures.
This year, Toho continued to participate in the production of new animations such as "My Hero Academia" and "Three Leaves of the Three Worlds". Can these new works become the pillars of this year's financial report? Let us wait and see. |
