CATDOLL: Foreign anime singer regrets coming to Japan, severely bullied and cursed to death

The winner of the "2nd Anime Song Contest (original name: 2nd Anison Grand Prix)", the Canadian singer HIMEKA, recently (August 24) posted a lot of negative comments on her Twitter, saying that she regretted coming to Japan, that bullying in the Japanese industry is now very serious, and that she had been cursed to die.

HIMEKA has sung the opening song "Bonds to Tomorrow" for the TV anime "Valkyria Chronicles" and the ending song "Endless Road" for the TV anime "Shinbane". She has loved Japanese anime since she was a child and immediately attracted many fans after her debut as a Japanese singer in 2009. She transferred to 5pb. in 2012 and started her free activities on April 1, 2014. She returned to Canada on June 9, 2014 without renewing her visa.

HIMEKA said on Twitter: "I was treated as trash before I went to Japan, and I was still treated as trash after I became a singer in Japan. No matter what I do, it's trash. I've received text messages saying 'Go to hell.' I don't understand why I work so hard."

"If I hadn't gone to Japan, it would have been fine. I completely regret it now. Both the black and the industry made me feel very painful. They took advantage of my dreams and did all kinds of bad things behind my back. I persisted for my dreams and fans, but now only painful memories are left. If I hadn't participated in that competition, it would have been fine."

"I won that competition because they thought that foreigners' CDs would definitely sell well and would be the best publicity for our company and the competition. It had nothing to do with my talent. They didn't care whether my singing could move people or not. All that mattered was sales. There is no such thing as 'real' in this industry."

"During those years, I participated in many activities and heard the judges' comments on the singers behind the scenes. I felt very sad. I want to forget, but I can't. It's a very cruel world. It's hard not to lose your soul in that world. I can no longer watch TV and listen to music with a pure heart, because it's all lies."
