Plot introduction: In 1972, the Apollo 17 lunar landing program discovered the "Hypergate" on the moon, an ancient civilization heritage connecting the Earth and Mars. Earth then sent a survey team headed by Dr. Relegaria to Mars. They discovered the "Aldnoah" technology of the ancient Martian civilization on Mars. With the progress of Mars colonization and the claim of technological monopoly, the friction between the Martian pioneers and the Earth has increased.

In 1985, Dr. Relegaria founded the "Vos Empire" on Mars and proclaimed himself emperor. In 1986, Earth formed a coalition government to fight against Mars. In 1999, Relegaria's son, the second emperor Gilzeria, declared war on Earth, but died during the invasion in the "Heaven's Fall" disaster, which destroyed the moon due to a hyperspace gate going out of control. In 2000, Mars and Earth ceased hostilities.

In 2014, Earth and Mars, which had been at peace for more than a decade, were negotiating for peace. On the other hand, based on the assumption that Earth and Mars would fight again, fighting skills and humanoid combat weapons were introduced into Earth's compulsory education. Inaho Kaizuka, a high school student living in Shin-Awara City, Japan, was one of those who grew up there.

At the same time, the princess of the Voss Empire, Asherram Viser Eliosya, visited the Earth as a goodwill ambassador, and the boy Slain Troyette, who was born on Earth but grew up on Mars, saw her off. However, her parade was subsequently attacked by missiles from terrorists in Shin-Awara City. The Martian knights on the front line regarded it as a declaration of war from the Earth, and they landed Yanglu City, which was stationed in the Earth's satellite orbit, on the Earth and launched attacks on countries around the world. The war between the Earth and Mars broke out again.
