CATDOLL: How to Train Your Dragon 2 wins the 42nd Annie Awards

Following the Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature, How to Train Your Dragon 2 won Best Animated Feature at the just-concluded 42nd Annie Awards, and won six trophies in a row to become the biggest winner. The popular Lego Movie won Best Screenplay, while Disney's Big Hero 6 only won Best Animated Effects.

In addition to the Best Animated Feature Film, How to Train Your Dragon 2 also won the Best Director Award for its director Dean DeBlois. After not being nominated for an Oscar, The Lego Movie also failed at the Annie Awards, with only directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller winning the Best Screenplay Award. The biggest recognition for this animated film, which has achieved both box office success and critical acclaim, was the Producers Guild's Best Animated Feature Film.

Disney's "Big Hero 6" was also somewhat neglected during the awards season, only winning Best Animated Effects at the Annie Awards, and can only pin its hopes on the Oscars. However, "The Boxtrolls" emerged as a dark horse, winning two awards: Best Animated Character Design and Best Voice Actor.
