"Wake Up, Girls!" is also a Japanese two-dimensional idol project. Although it is not as successful as The Idolmaster and LoveLive!, it still attracts many fans. WUG has previously confirmed that there will be a sequel to the movie. However, in December last year, the director of the WUG series, Hiroshi Yamamoto, said in an interview that Japanese animation had made him so discouraged that he wanted to return to Osaka to open a ramen restaurant, but the fans of WUG gave him strength again.

Yamamoto Kan said bluntly in the interview: "The accusation of WUG's poor animation is naturally sad. After the BD was released, I was ready to commit seppuku. However, the star rating of WUG's BD on Amazon has risen recently. There are still customers who like WUG, which makes me very happy. In fact, I don't want to make a sequel to WUG at all. The entire Japanese animation industry's evaluation of WUG follows the evaluation of netizens. I really want to stop making WUG and go back to Osaka to open a ramen shop. I hate the commercial speculation of the Japanese animation industry. But when I see that there are so many WUG fans, and so many customers who are willing to buy WUG BD, their eager thoughts of looking forward to WUG's sequel and protecting WUG girls forever are conveyed to my heart. The sparkling eyes of WUG fans are waiting and looking forward to the sequel. It is these fans who give me the strength to continue making WUG animations.

Finally, Uncle Kuan also gave his sincere thoughts to Japanese animation fans: "Whether you regard animation as a way to escape reality or as another real story, if you speak irresponsibly about animation every day, your favorite animation will gradually collapse. I hope you can understand this sentence. The current Japanese animation industry is really vulnerable."
