CATDOLL: SARFT: In 2015, there were 51 domestic animated films, and Monkey King ranked first in the box office

The Film Bureau of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television recently reported that in 2015, my country produced a total of 686 feature films, including 51 animated films. The total box office of the year reached 44.069 billion yuan, of which domestic films took 27.136 billion yuan, accounting for 61.58% of the total box office. In addition, domestic animated films, which have achieved impressive results, have also become a new hot spot.

Among the 17 movies that broke the 500 million yuan box office this year, three were animated films, and the highest-grossing "The Monkey King: Hero is Back" reached 952 million yuan. For the first time, three domestic animated films broke the 100 million yuan mark. In addition to "The Monkey King: Hero is Back", the other two domestic animated films were "Boonie Bears: Snow Ridge Bear Wind" (295 million) and "One Hundred Thousand Bad Jokes" (119 million).

According to the survey, the construction of cinemas in China continued to grow rapidly in 2015, with more than 1,200 new cinemas and 8,035 new screens added throughout the year. At present, the total number of cinemas in China has exceeded 6,000, comparable to the world's largest North American market. Various data show that domestic animated films have entered a new era. The rapid development of the national economy has brought a stage for animation film practitioners to show their talents. High-quality domestic animated films are being recognized and loved by more and more audiences.
