CATDOLL: "Yowamushi Pedal" special animation key visual image and story released

The super popular manga serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion (published by Akita Shoten) with a cumulative single-volume sales of 15 million copies, written by Watanabe Wataru, is about a high school student who devotes his youth to bicycle racing. The spin-off "Yowamushi Pedal SPARE BIKE" adapted from "Yowamushi Pedal" will be made into a special animation in September and will be broadcast for a limited time for two weeks starting from September 9 (Friday). This time, the plot and main visual image of the main story have been released.

The animations for this episode are the Makishima Yusuke arc of Sohoku High School and the Toudou Jinpachi arc of Hakone Academy. The Makishima arc tells the story of Makishima's first year of high school when he joined the Sohoku Cycling Club, and the Toudou arc tells the story of Toudou's encounter with a folding bicycle in his second year of junior high school.

Makishima Yusuke

In the spring, Yusuke Makishima enrolls at Sohoku High School. He has always ridden a bicycle on his belly, but he joins the Sohoku Cycling Club. His free riding style is recognized by those around him, and he is excited to be able to fly in the vast sky. However, his unique dancing riding style is ridiculed by the seniors in the club, who ask him to correct his riding style. What will happen to Makishima, who believes that "bicycles are free"?

Dongtang Jinba

Jinpachi Todou, a second-year junior high school student who pursues beauty and fashion, grew up in Hakone and is the son of a long-established hot spring inn. One day, his friend Osaku Itokawa, who rides a folding bicycle, invites him to a bike race, but he refuses because wearing a helmet will mess up his hair. But after the two tried to race in the mountains of Hakone, Todou felt an urge in his heart.
