CATDOLL: Too many tourists cause trouble, "Slam Dunk" parade site is not allowed to shoot

Kamakura High School in Kamakura, Japan, is a "holy place" known to all anime fans. The popular basketball manga "Slam Dunk" was filmed here. Since then, this place has become a holy place for fans of "Slam Dunk" and anime fans. According to a report by Japan's "Asahi Shimbun" on July 7, the opening theme scene that is deeply buried in memory was taken from this railway crossing. Not far away is Kanagawa Prefectural Kamakura High School, and the gymnasium there is the "second holy place".

The scenes in the animation are exactly the same as the real thing. Vice Principal Masayuki Ishikawa said, "Since it is so popular, I think the students will not get bored." For Kanagawa Prefecture, which wants to attract more foreign tourists, Kamakura High School is nothing more than a rare tourist resource. Not only is it close to the sea and overlooks Mount Fuji, but many alumni want their children to study at their alma mater.

However, worrying "side effects" also followed. For example, there are tourists who keep breaking into the campus without permission. In response, the school has placed a sign in four languages at the school gate since last fall, saying "No entry or photography allowed", but there has been no significant improvement. In late June this year, a group of four men and women speaking Chinese entered the campus and took photos in front of the gymnasium. One of the women even cosplayed as a wedding dress. Vice President Ishikawa said with a melancholy face: "We don't want to keep tourists out, but is there really no other way, even if it's just a little bit?" Oh, it's really a headache.
