According to the news published on the cover of BE・LOVE issue 11 in 2015, the live-action movie of the popular work "Chihayafuru" (also known as "Karutafuru") will be released in 2016! The original work of "Chihayafuru" is a girls' manga created by Yuki Suetsugu, and 27 volumes of single volumes have been released so far. The work has won the third place in the girls' section of "This Manga is Great! 2009" and the first place in the girls' section of "This Manga is Great! 2010", and it has also won awards in the girls' department of the 35th Kodansha Manga Award and the 2nd Manga Award.

The original story is divided into "Elementary School" and "High School (Three Years)". The protagonist Chihaya Ayase, who is still in the sixth grade of elementary school, meets Wataya Arata, who loves karuta very much. As graduation is approaching, they will go their separate ways and promise that "as long as we continue to play karuta, we will meet again one day." The work then focuses on the story of Chihaya and others who enter high school and are closely connected by karuta, which officially unfolds four years later... This work has been adapted into TV animation twice, with the first season broadcast from October 2011 to March 2012, and the second season from January 2013 to June of the same year, with 25 episodes in each season. In addition, the work has also launched an OAD bundled with the limited edition of the 22nd volume of the manga.
