The live-action movie "Chihayafuru" adapted from the popular manga and written by Yuki Suetsugu will be released in March 2016, and the second part in April 2016. Recently, the crew members are filming the relevant scenes at the Omi Jingu Shrine, the holy place of chihaya. The official also released the actors' hakama photos for the first time.

Chihayafuru is a Japanese girl manga created by Yuki Suetsugu, published in BE-LOVE, and serialized since 2007. The single volume has been published from May 13, 2008 to June 13, 2011, with cumulative sales exceeding 4.5 million copies.

The story mainly tells that the heroine Chihaya Ayase finally realized her own dream after meeting the boy Wataya Arata who loves karuta. Chihaya's childhood sweetheart Majima Taichi was also influenced by Arata and Chihaya and began to be passionate about karuta. Then the three of them went their separate ways for various reasons, and the karuta that closely connected them was karuta. They promised that "as long as we continue to play karuta, we will meet again one day." The story tells about their colorful competitive karuta journey...
