CATDOLL: Pile, the voice actor of "Love Live!" member Nishikino Maki, was racially discriminated against by Japanese otakus because of his Korean ancestry

The relationship between China, Japan and South Korea is quite delicate from the private to the government level. There is a saying that "China-Japan friendship relies on South Korea, China-South Korea friendship relies on Japan, and South Korea-Japan friendship relies on China." In fact, each of the three countries looks down on the other two countries. However, it is a bit extreme to engage in racial discrimination just because of this idea. At ASL2015, a few Japanese otakus racially attacked Pile, the voice actor of "Love Live!" Maki Nishikino, at a concert, just because Pile himself is of Korean descent.

Plie's mother is Korean, so Pile is fluent in Korean and is of Japanese and Korean descent. On the first day of ASL, "Love Live!" and "The Idolmaster" performed on the same stage, which moved the fans of both sides. The fans of both sides even took photos together after the performance. However, on the second day, some Japanese otakus attacked Pile with racial discrimination. When Pile appeared, some Japanese otakus waved kimchi, put kimchi on their heads, and ate kimchi on the spot. Some otakus announced on Twitter that they would do this in advance, which was obviously targeting Pile's Korean ancestry. This behavior also caused a lot of disgust among Japanese otakus. But there is really nothing you can do about these people, because they can argue: "I just ate kimchi at the concert."
