CATDOLL: Japanese media says the negative social impact of "Love Live!" fans' behavior is too great

Recently, there has been more and more negative news about the fans of the multi-platform project "Lovelive!". Many Japanese media have even bluntly called the fans of "Lovelive!" a "cult". However, many fans not only do not try to improve the current situation, but also add fuel to the fire. For example, the high school student who issued a murder warning to LL fans a while ago is actually a LL fan himself. Although he claimed that other fans were of low quality, his behavior did not seem to be much better.... Now his arrest has once again attracted the attention of the Japanese media to LL fans, and this time the Japanese media directly used the title "It is indeed a cult" to call the fans of "Lovelive!".

The number of LL fans in Japan is increasing. Fans like the idol group that appears in the work, but since there are 9 members in total, although they are all LL fans, they like different people. And the question of who they should like sometimes causes disputes among fans. In the murder of a junior high school student in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture in February this year, both the perpetrator and the victim were LL fans, which caused a lot of discussion at the time.

In addition to disputes between LL fans, there was also an incident a while ago where an elementary school student was asked to change his name and was insulted because his name was pronounced the same as "Yazawa Hikaru" in "Lovelive!". Many atrocities have attracted widespread attention from the whole society. Just a few days ago, a man who threatened the voice actor Mimori Suzuko on the Internet, "I will run to the office and kill you," was just arrested by the police. The motive for the crime was "I am very upset that my favorite voice actor was attacked by Mimori fans." Considering that Mimori played Umi Sonoda in "Lovelive!", many people think that this is likely a conflict between LL fans.

Then in July this year, a high school student in Toyama Prefecture tweeted, "I want to kill all LL fans in the country without leaving a single one." In order to intimidate, he also uploaded a picture of a weapon. The animation production company of "Lovelive!" could not ignore such threats and strengthened the vigilance of related activities. And on the 2nd of this month, the police arrested the student on charges of "obstructing business." The boy said frankly, "Although I like "Lovelive!", I hate LL fans because they are very tasteless."

For this reason, many people in society have commented: "They are birds of a feather." "LL fans are so scary~" "They are already a terrorist group, right?" "Can we write LL fans in the dictionary: a group of fanatical criminals?" Such malicious remarks continued to ferment, and even voices such as "Otaku are so disgusting" and "What exactly is an otaku?" appeared.

Because the fan base is so huge, these incidents are actually only caused by a few people, and most people are just enjoying the work. If there were more positive news instead of just negative news, people's perceptions would slowly change. But unfortunately, negative news is still being reported more. It seems that it's time for fans to do something to change the image of "Lovelive!" fans in society. Fans who like these girls should learn more from their positive spirit.
