CATDOLL: A Chinese couple in Japan was arrested for selling pirated anime "Chihayafuru"

Recently (October 7), the Cyber Crime Countermeasures Division of Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, arrested a Chinese couple for copyright violation (copying and publishing). According to Japanese police, the Chinese couple illegally copied pirated DVDs of the animation "Chihayafuru" in July this year and sold them to about 1,500 people across Japan, earning about 20.6 million yen (about 1.08 million yuan). The couple has now pleaded guilty and admitted that they sold pirated discs for living expenses.

In this regard, a Japanese netizen said: I thought it was going to be sold in China, but I didn't expect it to be sold to Japanese. Some people think that people who buy pirated discs are fake otakus. Some people also said that they can't understand the behavior of buying pirated discs at all. If you want to watch animation, you can buy it through regular channels or rent discs. There is really no need to buy pirated ones.
