CATDOLL: A new employee of a Japanese animation company revealed that his first month's salary was so bad that he could not survive

Last year, there were many reports that animators in the Japanese animation industry had very low incomes, which had reached the point where they could hardly make a living, and the working environment was also quite difficult. However, this statement was mostly based on the conclusions given in various surveys and statistics, and there were few specific figures, which made some people think that this was just complaining. Recently, a new employee who claimed to be from the animation production company XEBEC (the production company of "To Love Darkness") posted his salary slip. Looking at the numbers on it and combining them with the average income in Japan, it is indeed very miserable.

This person said that this was his first month's salary. From the above, we can see that the amount received after deducting the transportation fee + basic salary and income tax is 131,330 yen (about RMB 7,144). This income level is similar to that of ordinary part-time jobs in Japan . What does this number mean in Japan? Let's compare it with the average annual income in Japan in 2014, which was 4.15 million yen. According to the standard of 13 months of salary per year, the average monthly salary is nearly 320,000. The figure for Tokyo is higher than the national average in Japan because the cost of living is higher, and even for new employees, this income is very small. You should know that the average monthly salary of new employees in Japan is also around 200,000 yen, which is still a big gap.

Moreover, the monthly salary of more than 130,000 yuan is only for a three-month trial period, and there is no social security payment. They are required to work 24 hours a day, which is really bad. No wonder the turnover rate of new employees in the Japanese animation industry is as high as 80%. Animation production is a job that pays little, works hard, and is exhausting. If this continues, how many new people will be willing to join the animation industry? The Japanese animation industry will fall into more difficulties.
