CATDOLL: The TV animation of the "Handa-kun Legend" spin-off of "Genki-chan" has been decided

The anime "Energetic Kid" which depicts the daily life of the awkward young calligrapher Handa Seishu and the people on the island after he moved there has been well received since its release. The original author of the manga previously released a spin-off manga "Handa-kun Legend", which is now confirmed to be a TV animation. This work mainly describes the story of the protagonist Handa Seishu in high school. Other detailed information about this work has not yet been disclosed.

The spin-off manga "The Legend of Handa-kun" began serialization in the November 2013 issue of the magazine "Monthly Shonen GANGAN". "The Legend of Handa-kun" is a story that took place 6 years before "Genki-chan", and tells the story of Seifusa Handa in high school. In "The Legend of Handa-kun", Seifusa Handa is extremely shy, and the only person he talks to in school is Kawato. In the spin-off manga, Handa gives people a cold feeling from the beginning and does not interact with others, but in fact many people in the school like Handa, but Handa always feels that someone is talking about him behind his back every day and feels that he is hated, so he falls into a vicious circle. In the spin-off manga, Handa also suffers from amnesia and becomes particularly friendly and enthusiastic to others and extremely narcissistic.
