At the 12th China International Cartoon and Animation Festival held in Hangzhou, according to data from the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, China's annual animation output has dropped by half from more than 260,000 minutes in 2011 to more than 130,000 minutes in 2015. The transformation and upgrading has achieved phased results, and the development mechanism of China's animation industry with quality and efficiency as the core has been initially formed. Experts said: "The shift from focusing on scale and quantity growth to focusing on quality and efficiency improvement reflects the objective laws of the development of China's animation industry and is also in line with the trend and trend of the development of the world animation industry."

Tian Jin, deputy director of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, said that China's annual animation output has remained stable at 130,000 minutes, and the transformation and upgrading has achieved phased results. The animation industry development mechanism with quality and efficiency as the core has been initially formed, and the positive effects have begun to be released continuously. In 2011, my country's TV animation output reached 261,444 minutes, almost three times that of Japan. Since then, the annual output has declined year by year, reaching 138,496 minutes and 134,011 minutes in 2014 and 2015 respectively, almost "halved". The annual animation output in Hangzhou, the permanent home of the animation festival, has also dropped from 34,000 to 35,000 minutes at its peak to 15,000 minutes last year.
