CATDOLL: Animation and online game art production will be included in Beijing's banned industry list

Recently, in order to promote the transformation and structural adjustment of the capital's cultural and creative industries, the Beijing Municipal People's Government Office issued a notice on the issuance of the "Beijing Cultural and Creative Industry Development Guidance Catalogue (2016 Edition)", which included "mid-term production links such as animation and online game art in digital services" into the prohibited category.

It is understood that "the mid-term production of animation is a labor-intensive and low-tech industry. Countries with developed animation industries in the world, such as Japan and South Korea, have outsourced the mid-term production of animation to other Asian countries. The Catalogue lists the art production of animation and games as prohibited in order to guide cultural enterprises to outsource labor-intensive links to surrounding areas and promote the transfer and relocation of low-end formats and links in the cultural and creative industry."

In addition, there are 44 encouraged industries that are planned to be developed, covering key links such as cultural content production, dissemination channels, and production services, as well as industries integrating cultural and technological development, creative high-end service industries, and public cultural industries that meet the spiritual and cultural needs of the people. There are 58 restricted industries, mainly cultural wholesale and retail industries and some cultural manufacturing industries. There are 20 prohibited industries, mainly some cultural manufacturing industries with a greater impact on the environment.
