CATDOLL: The director of "Cars" responded to the accusation of plagiarism: Disney is smearing my movie

CATDOLL: The director of "Cars" responded to the accusation of plagiarism: Disney is smearing my movie

Yesterday (June 22), we reported that the case of Disney suing the domestic animation "Cars" for copyright infringement began in Shanghai. In fact, the producer and director of the domestic animation "Cars" have never admitted that they were plagiarizing, and the director Zhuo Jianrong even fought with netizens online for this. Now according to the report of Watch Hollywood (Sina Entertainment Hollywood Channel), the director has come out to issue a statement again, once again saying that "Cars" did not plagiarize, and also said that "Disney hired Internet trolls to discredit my movie, which led to the failure of the Autobots movie at the box office."

Zhuo Jianrong, the director of "Cars", requested to respond to the defendant's infringement through Sina. The following are his original words:

"Disney, I'm afraid of you. You messed with the Autobots, and I don't accept it. I hope you won't mess with my movie again... Regarding the Shanghai Pudong Court hearing the Autobots case: I also want to countersue Disney for obstructing justice, blocking the release of the Autobots, hiring Internet trolls and inducing the media to report unfairly on the Autobots, which led to the box office failure of the Autobots movie. Disney bears the main responsibility.

(1) I am also worried that since Disneyland is opening in Pudong, Shanghai, will it have any local protection privileges?

(2) Disney's lawyers are unprofessional. From August last year to today, three court sessions have been held. The opposing lawyers were incomprehensible in the first two days, causing the case to be delayed again and again.

(3) Our film is an independent creation, and there is no plagiarism at all. As cars are in the public domain, there is limited creative space. Each image has its own characteristics, eyes, mouth, and appearance, which are completely different. You can see this by comparing the content of the two films.

So we have reason to believe that Disney abused the law and caused judicial injustice. They went to the Fujian Provincial Film Bureau several times to stop the release of Autobots and called the Xiamen Municipal Government to investigate Blue Flame, which led to the Xiamen Municipal Government's prejudice against our company. According to Xiamen's policy on cartoon subsidies, we should be able to get a policy subsidy of 250,000 yuan, but because of Disney and the words of the leaders of the relevant departments in Xiamen, Autobots cannot have government subsidies. So Disney put pressure on the Xiamen Municipal Government, causing the Xiamen Municipal Government to treat Blue Flame unfairly. I reiterate here that if Autobots gets government subsidies, we will donate all of them to poor students. ".

From the above, we can see that Zhuo Jianrong, the director of "Cars", simply refused to admit that his work was plagiarized, and even said that netizens found the movie plagiarized and said that Disney hired Internet trolls. Such a statement also aroused the anger and heated discussion of netizens, and it always felt that a new Internet war was about to begin.
