The manga "Daytime Meteor" drawn by Mika Yamamori was completed on November 5, 2014 (12 volumes in total). Two years later, the work was announced to be adapted into a live-action movie, and Toho's registered domain name "hirunaka.jp" was exposed.

The story of "Daytime Meteor" tells the love story between Suzu, a first-year high school student who grew up in the countryside, and her teacher Shishio and her grade-level student Mamura.
