CATDOLL: Dozens of people marched in Hong Kong to demand Japan release arrested Chinese subtitle group members

At the end of September, the Japanese police announced the arrest of two Chinese men suspected of violating copyright law. The two men were members of the Chinese Subtitle Group. They were arrested for allegedly violating the copyright law in Japan. This incident also attracted the attention of many anime fans in China.

Recently, some anime fans gathered in Mong Kok, Hong Kong to hold a parade. During the parade, participants shouted slogans such as "Thank you for the efforts of the subtitle group, release the cultural ambassador immediately" and "I have never received a penny, I just joined because I love anime."

These people set out from Argyle Street in Mong Kok on October 15, and walked along Sai Yeung Choi Street South and Nathan Road to places where Hong Kong otakus often go to anime model stores, including Sin Tat Plaza and Sino Plaza. They told passers-by about the arrest of the subtitle group and their own experience of watching translated works, expressed their gratitude to the subtitle group, called on otakus to pay attention to those arrested, and called on people who have seen the works of the subtitle group to join their parade.
