The live-action movie adapted from the manga "Dream Eaters" (also known as "Bakuman") by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata will be released in Japan in 2015. Recently, the official announced that the actor who plays the strongest rival of Takagi Akito (played by Ryunosuke Kamiki) in the story, the genius manga artist Eiji Nizuma, will be played by child star Shota Sometani, who participated in the movie at the age of 9. When talking about the content of the movie, Shota Sometani said: "This movie will have CG action scenes, and I am looking forward to it."
Speaking of Shota Sometani, he also appeared in the live-action version of Parasyte. He is really busy (laughs). The director of this live-action movie Dream Eater will be Hitoshi Oone, who has directed the Japanese drama Akihabara @DEEP with Otaku as the protagonist, and the recent manga-adapted Japanese drama Okawabata Detective Agency. At the same time, the original manga manuscripts of Obata Takeshi will be used as props in the movie. So far, with the previously reported Takeru Sato and Ryunosuke Kamiki, three actors have been confirmed for the live-action movie of Dream Eater.
The manga "Dream Eaters" was serialized from 2008 to 2012. It tells the story of Mashiro Kou, who aims to become a manga artist, and Takagi Akito, a top student in the same class, who form a manga artist team and work hard to draw manga and work together to become manga artists. The manga has been completed and 3 seasons of TV animation have been released.
