CATDOLL: "Knights of Sidonia" Season 2 will be released in April 2015 Spring Theater Edition Information Update

The second season of the TV animation of "Knights of Sidonia" has been announced. The official announcement has been made that the new work will be broadcast in April 2015. At the same time, the main production team of the second season of "Knights of Sidonia: Battle of the 9th Planet" has also been revealed. The director is Hiroyuki Seshita, the deputy director of the first season of this work, and the series composition is still in charge of Sadashi Murai. The animation is still produced by 3DCG production company Polygon Pictures. The debut work of the author of this work, Tsutomu Nihei, "BLAME!", will be made into an animation and presented as a play-within-a-play in the second season.

In addition, the official also announced the news of the theatrical version of this work. It is reported that the theatrical version will be produced based on the 12 episodes of the first season of the TV animation. In addition to adding new scenes, the sound effects will also be remade. The release time is scheduled for March next year.

Knights of Sidonia is a manga created by Tsutomu Nihei and serialized in Monthly Afternoon since 2009. The story is set 1,000 years after the destruction of the mysterious life form called Kijuko in the solar system. The protagonist, Nagamichi Tani, who lives on the seeding ship Sidonia that maintains human reproduction and production and flies in space, becomes a trainee operator of the giant humanoid weapon "Guardian". The work tells the story of the protagonist and his companions fighting against Kijuko. This work combines elements such as robots and school romance on the same SF manga-style themes as previous works, and is a combat SF manga that has built its own unique worldview.
