CATDOLL: Can you believe that the copyright fee for a cartoonist's single volume is 130 million?!

CATDOLL: Can you believe that the copyright fee for a cartoonist's single volume is 130 million?!

A few days ago, Fuji TV's Money Scoop program did a special episode about cartoonists. It interviewed many well-known cartoonists, such as Tatsuya Egawa, the author of Tokyo University Story, and adult cartoonist Kusu Igumo (pseudonym). From the name of the program, you can probably guess the main content, that's right, it's about money, how much money cartoonists can make. What's shocking is that the copyright fee for a single volume of erotic cartoonist Igumo is as high as 130 million yen? !

First, let me ask the cartoonist Tatsuya Egawa:

●The copyright fee for a single volume of the manga "まじかる☆タルるートくん" which is very popular in Japan: 35.9 million yen;
● During the peak period, the printing tax for single copies was about 200 million yen.
●Adaptation fee for animation: 100,000 to 150,000 yen per episode;
● Gamification copyright royalties: approximately 52.2 million yen (game price 5,800 yen × approximately 300,000 copies × 3%);
●The annual revenue from peripheral products alone is close to 100 million yen;
●Pachinko station copyright royalties: approximately 30 million yen.

The total income of Mr. Tatsuya Egawa from the manga "Majikaruru☆Taluruto-kun" is about 800 million yen (about 42.79 million yuan), as follows:

Manuscript fee: 17 million yen;
Single book copyright fee: 453 million yen;
Cost of animation adaptation: 12 million yen;
Peripheral goods: 300 million yen;
Total: Approximately 782 million yen.

The price of a comic page: the difference between the 1980s and now

For Mr. Egawa, a 120-tsubo (about 396 square meters) luxury house in the center of Shibuya is “only” 600 million yen…

Let's take a look at Mr. Jingyun, a hentai manga artist known as the insider. Due to the limitation of the audience, the adult comics market is not as broad as that of all ages, but even so——

●The current work is being serialized in the adult magazine "Hot Milk";
● Manuscript fee for debut work (monthly magazine): 240,000 yen (8,000 yen per page x 30 pages);
● Copyright fee for single edition: 1.5 million yen (1,000 yen per copy x 15,000 copies x 10%)
●Herotic comics.

They also made a bold inference: the circulation of the single volumes of "Hanaharu Naruko", the top adult comics writer today, is about 1 million copies, so the copyright fee for Hanaharu Naruko's single volumes alone can be 130 million yen!

Mr. Jingyun's original ambition was not to be a cartoonist

Submit your work on P station and then be discovered by a publisher

The manga industry is worth 367 billion yen, and the total amount earned by manga artists who receive 10% of the copyright fees is 36.7 billion yen a year.

Perhaps there are many friends who pick up their brushes and submit their works to P-station after reading this. However, I still want to remind everyone that there are very few cartoonists who can buy a house of nearly 400 square meters in a year, and there are still many who are overworked, so be careful when entering the pit.
