CATDOLL: EVA new animation analysis: "Unit No. 0" goes berserk to save Ayaka?

Today, the Japanese Animation Exhibition announced a new work. This time it was a CG animation with EVA as the theme, about the runaway incident of an original machine "Unit-0". Although it is unclear why this work was produced, it may be a short film co-produced by Japanese animation producers. However, just a few minutes of CG animation can also bring a lot of information. Apart from the previously exposed PV that seems to be the last theatrical version of EVA, this short film emphasizes Japan's mature CG production technology. The smoothness of the action is far more exciting than the number of animation frames.

This short film roughly tells the story of a machine called "Unit No. 0" that encountered a mutation during testing, causing a runaway accident, and ejected without authorization, causing irreparable losses to the military. However, the most exciting part of this short film is the last few shots. For example, after the machine ran away, a voice said "I'm here", attracting Unit No. 0 to rush over and pick her up. It is worth noting that the CV of this girl is Hayashibara Megumi, who is also the CV of Ayanami Rei, but this girl who didn't show her face is likely dead.

Through this information, we can know that the Unit-0 may have gone berserk because of this girl. If we have to describe it, it is probably similar to the plot in the original EVA where Shinji Ikari went berserk to save Rei Ayanami. However, the similarity is that they both seemed unable to save the people they wanted to save, which can be seen in the final roar of the Unit-0. To sum up, the pilot of the Unit-0 (it may also be similar to the Unit-01 being injected with someone's soul) was assimilated due to personal emotional problems during the test, and then went berserk and merged with the Unit-0.
