CATDOLL: Japan's PTA proposes that comics should be reviewed before they are released to children's home

Children's stay-at-home behavior is a social problem. Recently, Japan's PTA held a regular meeting to discuss how to prevent children from staying at home. During the discussion, PTA members attributed all the causes of problems such as truancy and parent-dependent children to stay-at-home behavior. Not only that, some PTA members also proposed that comics should be submitted to educational institutions or PTA for review before they are released, and then they can be released after exchanging opinions with publishers. This proposal was also agreed by PTA members.

As soon as the news came out, comments about the incident immediately emerged online. Most netizens expressed strong opposition, leaving comments such as "Are you still pretending to be an educator?" and "You are simply crazy." Although some people said that "the comic culture should be explained to the PTA", many people thought that "these people are just emotional and it is useless to explain."

PTA stands for "Parent-Teacher Association", which means "Parent-Teacher Association" in Chinese. It is a formal organization composed of parents, teachers and other school staff, aiming to promote parental participation in school education.
