According to the Japanese newspaper Mainichi Shimbun, actor Kin'ya Aikawa has passed away on Wednesday (April 15) at the age of 80. Kin'ya Aikawa, whose real name is Toshiaki Igawa, was born on June 25, 1934 in Sugamo, Toshima-ku, Tokyo. He began his acting career by dubbing foreign films, especially the characters played by Jack Lemmon. In addition, he has dubbed numerous TV series, movies, radio and animation characters. The characters he dubbed include Mask Reza in "Mach GoGoGo", Master Kame in the movie "Dragon Ball Z: The Strongest Way" and Mr. Nyanko in "Inakapp Taisho". In his later years, Aikawa founded a theater troupe aimed at training young artists, and in 2010 he invested in the Tokyo theater and cinema Kinkero Theater (the name comes from his nickname Kinkero and his wife Utsumimi Miya Dori's nickname Kerronpa). |
