CATDOLL: Still as good as ever? Akira Toriyama and Masakazu Katsura to launch new manga

Today (May 9), Fuji TV announced in the program "Mandou Kobayashi Ground Wave Special" that Akira Toriyama, the author of "Arale" and "Dragon Ball", and Masakazu Katsura, the author of "Movie Girls" and "IS", are working together to create a new work. The host Kobayashi Tomoharu entered the editorial department of Shueisha's "Weekly Shonen Jump", which once serialized "Dragon Ball". In order to commemorate the theatrical animation "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F" currently being screened in Japan, Kazuhiko Torishima, who was once the editor-in-chief of Akira Toriyama, was interviewed. Kazuhiko Torishima is the editor-in-chief of Masakazu Katsura.

When Kobayashi asked, "Will Mr. Toriyama draw comics again?", Torishima replied, "Actually... he is currently working as an original author, but he is not drawing comics. He is drawing storyboards for Katsura's new series." Torishima is quite confident in the quality of his work. This new work will be published in Weekly YOUNG JUMP. However, he did not reveal the name of the comic or what kind of comic work it will be. It seems that Akira Toriyama has been very busy recently. In fact, this is not the first time that Akira Toriyama and Masakazu Katsura have collaborated. They have collaborated once in JIYA. The science fiction-themed JIYA is also published in Weekly YOUNG JUMP. It is a short-term concentrated series with Akira Toriyama as the original author and Masakazu Katsura as the painter.
