The Japan Film Critics Awards announced the results of the 2015 (2014) selection yesterday (May 9). In the animation department, the all-CG animated film "Expelled From Paradise-" won the Best Work Award. This work brings together well-known industry figures such as Seiji Mizushima, Tomomi Kyoda, and Gen Urobuchi, and the attempt of all-CG technology has also opened up a new era. The mecha battle and beautiful girl themes that have been nurtured in Japanese animation for many years are organically combined in this work, which has a very good effect. The work was released on November 15, 2014, and although it is a hot topic, it did not have many screenings. However, it is such a work that deserves the favor of the Japan Critics Awards.

In addition, the Director Award was won by Hiromasa Yonebayashi, who created "When Marnie Was There". The Merit Award was won by Michihiko Umezawa and Hideji Abe, who presented Japanese national-level characters in full CG in the work "STAND BY ME Doraemon". The Voice Actor Award was won by Koichi Yamadera, who has played roles such as Ryoji Kaji in "Neon Genesis Evangelion", SPIKE in "COWBOY BEPOP", Ryoga Hibiki in "Ranma 1/2", Yuta in "Mermaid no Kaku", and Ryuou Ryoma in "Sky Senki Shurato". The Japan Film Critics Award was first established in 1992 (1991). Prior to that, many overseas countries and regions had established similar awards selected by film critics. This is also a film award with unique insights from the perspective of critics. However, the history of the animation department is relatively short. This was first launched in 2011 (2010), but it quickly attracted great attention from people at home and abroad. In 2014 (2013), there were only three categories: Best Work Award, Director Award, and Merit Award. This year, the Voice Actor Award and Special Award were added.
