CATDOLL: Childhood memories, the prequel to "Astro Boy" "Astro Boy Origin" will be broadcast in April next year

The animation of "Astro Boy Origin", the prequel manga of the "Astro Boy" series by Japanese work Osamu Tezuka, is expected to be aired in April next year. The adaptation is a true prequel manga of "Astro Boy". In this manga, Dr. Tenma and Dr. Tea, who are very important to Astro Boy himself, have not yet left the school.

The animation will be jointly produced by Production IG, OLM, and SIGNAL.MD, with Katsuyuki Motohiro as the general supervisor and Tatsuo Sato as the supervisor. It will be broadcast on NHK TV.

The story tells that in the near future Japan suffered a major disaster of unknown cause and the Japanese land was almost destroyed. Five years after the disaster, Japan gradually began to recover. In a university in Japan, the young Dr. Tenma and Dr. Chasui are working hard to study robot technology. Although this story is named Astro Boy, Astro Boy will not appear in the comics.
