On June 18, the web animation of the same name adapted from the anime Fox Spirit Matchmaker held its premiere in Beijing. The director of Fox Spirit Matchmaker Wang Xin, the original comics author Xiao Xin, the well-known cartoonist Yao Feila, and the voice actor Zhang Jie attended the event.

"Fox Spirit Matchmaker" tells a series of interesting and mysterious stories about a fox spirit who is a matchmaker and helps lovers from previous lives to find their love. Zhang Jie, who previously dubbed for films and TV series such as "The Legend of Zhen Huan", also lent his voice to the animated film this time, but denied that he had changed from the three-dimensional world (referring to film and television works) to the two-dimensional world (referring to animation works). "I first liked dubbing because I watched a lot of animation when I was very young. Many of the animations that my generation watched were imported from Japan, and I have liked animation dubbing since then. So it is not accurate to say that I switched from the three-dimensional world."

Talking about the difference between dubbing real people and animated characters, Zhang Jie believes that dubbing real people is a second performance, because the dubbing can be based on the person's performance, but there is no reference picture for dubbing animated characters, "It is possible that it will move after it is made into an animation, but most of the time, the ones we dub do not move, so we can only rely on our own imagination and discuss with the animation author, comic author, and director." In addition, Zhang Jie also said that dubbing different types of works will also have different exchanges with the main creators, "If I am an animation director, I will understand the role, design the sound for each character, and tell them what the role should feel like. If it is a real person, it is very simple. I will ensure that his performance is restored in the same way as he performs, so that when everyone watches it, it feels as if it is not dubbing, but the actor himself speaking."

With the popularity of "The Legend of Zhen Huan", not only the superb performances of the actors and the compact plot have been loved by the audience, but the dubbing of the characters has also caused heated discussions. Talking about the current situation of the dubbing industry, Zhang Jie said that the state of the Chinese dubbing industry is similar to that of Japan in the 1970s, "some professional group artists, and some teachers and actors guest-starred in dubbing. But now with the development, there are already many professional dubbing actors specializing in dubbing."

In addition, Zhang Jie also has hope for the future of the dubbing industry, "With the development of the industry, more dubbing actors will be drawn to focus on animation. Now we are dubbing more three-dimensional TV series and movies, because there is no other way, there are only so many animations (works), and the annual output is only so much, so if everyone wants to survive, they can only rely on dubbing some three-dimensional things. But animation has a good development momentum, and I believe that the core projects of the dubbing industry will gradually develop."
