CATDOLL: The original author of "Ushio and Tora" said that the anime version will delete a lot of the comic plot

The classic manga adaptation "Ushio to Tora" which will be aired next month is currently attracting the attention of many anime fans. Recently, a sneak peek revealed that the original author Fujita Kazuhiro was interviewed, and he said that a lot of the plot will be cut in the animation version.

Q: Mr. Fujita also joined this work as a series composition. So what specific work do you do?

Fujita: I mainly expressed my opinion on the overall plot ratio. And the reason for my choice is very simple, it's just because I want to see Ushio and Tora, who defeated the "White Face", appear in the animation. I made such an opinion at the beginning. Omit some unnecessary plots and let the plot rush to the "White Face" in one breath. In this way, the animation production staff shouted: "Go easy on me!" (laughs)

Q: They don’t want to omit the plot either (laughs).

Fujita : Yes. It would be a pity to leave out some of the story, so I hope to stick to the original work. However, I think it is a rare opportunity to bring together such excellent production staff, and if we can't make "White Face" under such circumstances, I think it will be a lifelong regret. Therefore, our plot structure this time is like "Beast Gun" charging straight at the strongest enemy. Although the audience who sees the animation may question "Why is that part of the plot gone!?", everything is my choice.

Many netizens also expressed their understanding of the original author's statement: "After all, it is impossible to complete the entire plot in half a year." "Original fans should not criticize the cuts this time, right?" And if a viewer who has not read the original work does not feel any disobedience after watching the animation, then I believe this will still be an excellent new animation, right?

The original manga "Ushio to Tora" was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" from 1990 to 1996. The single volume has been published in 33 volumes and has been completed, with cumulative sales exceeding 30 million copies. It tells the story of the protagonist Ushio Aotsuki who was accidentally stimulated by the beast spear and transformed into an orc. At the same time, he also unsealed a monster tiger that had been sealed by the beast for 500 years, and then embarked on the road to conquer monsters. This work had a full 10-episode OVA in 1992. With the announcement of the TV animation, the original manga has also confirmed that a new complete version will be released in the spring. It has been confirmed that popular voice actors including Yu Hatakenaka, Rikiya Koyama, Mikako Komatsu, Kiyono Anno, Keiji Fujiwara, Ai Chino and others will join this work.
