Iron Man is adapted from a classic story in Marvel Comics. The super armor in the film, which is both offensive and defensive, has always been the dream of movie and comic fans. However, in addition to being very popular with fans, this armor is suspected of plagiarism. In April 2013, American cartoonist brothers Leben and Lele filed a lawsuit in the federal court in Massachusetts, claiming that the Iron Man armor plagiarized the battle suit design of their 2001 comic book Radix. Recently, Marvel and Disney responded that this lawsuit regarding the copyright infringement of the Iron Man armor is not within the jurisdiction of Massachusetts, so the lawsuit should either be dismissed or transferred to New York City. Before the release of "Iron Man 3", the brothers Leben and Leary sent a formal letter to Marvel and Disney, requesting that Iron Man not wear such armor in the movie. They believed that after Iron Man was created in 1963, the superhero was usually portrayed as wearing simple spandex clothes and simple armored combat suits; but after the publication of "Radix", Iron Man's combat suit changed and became a highly detailed, mechanized full-body armor as portrayed in the film. |
