CATDOLL: Nominations for the 44th Annie Awards for Animation Announced, "Zootopia" and Other Masterpieces Nominated

The 44th "Annie Awards" hosted by the International Animation Association recently announced the list of nominees for this year's awards. Disney's acclaimed masterpiece "Zootopia" leads with 11 nominations, followed by the stop-motion animation "Kubo and the Two Strings" with 10 nominations. In addition, "Moana", "Finding Dory" and "Kung Fu Panda 3" also received multiple nominations and will compete with the above two films for the "Best Animated Feature Film Award".

Ghibli's "The Red Turtle", Makoto Shinkai's "Your Name.", "My Life as a Zucchini", "Red Days", and "The Long Way North" were nominated for the "Best Independent Animated Film Award".

The Annie Awards is a global animation award and one of the highest honors in the animation field. It is known as the "Oscars of American animation". The award has been held by ASIFA-Hollywood, the Los Angeles branch of the International Animated Film Association, since 1972. The 44th Annie Awards will be presented on February 4, 2017.
