CATDOLL: China and Russia invested tens of millions of dollars to jointly create the animated film "Frozen 3"

On August 4, China's Flame Node Entertainment Co., Ltd. and Russia's Wizart Animation Film Company signed a cooperation intention agreement to jointly produce the 3D animated film "The Snow Queen 3: Fire and Ice" at the Russian Embassy in Beijing. The total investment of the film is expected to be 10 million US dollars, of which China will bear 40%-50%. The film is expected to be completed by the end of 2016 and will be released simultaneously in China and Russia during the 2017 winter vacation or Spring Festival.

The Snow Queen is the most invested animated film series in the history of Russian films. The Snow Queen, released by Wizart Animation Film Company in 2012, and The Snow Queen 2: The Magic Ice Mirror, released at the end of 2014, have been released to the public. In fact, the Russian Snow Queen and the American Disney animated film Frozen, which is well known to Chinese audiences, are both based on the fairy tale The Snow Queen by Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen. But the Russian producers believe that the Russian narration is more faithful to the original. In fact, as early as 1986, the former Soviet Union launched the TV movie The Secret of the Snow Queen, which interpreted Andersen's fairy tale in a real-life way. Recently, The Snow Queen has been fully released in China under the authorization of the Russian Wizart Animation Film Company, becoming the first full-frame Russian animated film to appear in Chinese theaters.

Feng Yi, general manager of China Fuen Entertainment Co., Ltd., admitted that when he first saw the sample film of "The Snow Queen" produced by Wizart Animation Film Company a few years ago, he was immediately deeply moved by the artistic charm of Russian animated films. Since then, he has made up his mind to bring this film to Chinese audiences. Feng Yi said that Fuen Entertainment is willing to help Russian films enter the Chinese market. He also revealed that Fuen Entertainment will obtain the distribution rights and derivative rights of "The Snow Queen 3" in China. In addition, "The Snow Queen 2" is expected to be introduced to China for screening next year.

Yuri Moskovin, the general producer of the Russian Wizart Animation Film Company, told reporters that it was a great honor to be the first Russian film company to release an animated film in China. He also thanked Fuen Entertainment for its recognition of "The Snow Queen" and its efforts to introduce the film. He said that the production of "The Snow Queen 3" will be officially launched in the near future, and the Chinese side will fully participate in the entire production process. Part of the animation production work will be completed in China and part will be completed in Russia. He also said that the Russian animation film industry is currently entering a period of rapid development, and the level of film production is becoming increasingly sophisticated. In the future, more Russian animation films may meet Chinese audiences.
