In January next year, Disney Junior will launch an animated series called The Lion Guard, and the first episode will be a one-hour movie, The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar, which will be broadcast first in November this year. The protagonist of the movie is called Kion, the son of Simba, the Lion King.

Kayo is Simba's second son. It is reported that many people who worked behind the scenes of "The Lion King" have returned to this series. James Earl Jones will continue to voice Simba's father Mufasa, Erin Sabella will continue to voice Pumbaa, Rob Lowe will voice Simba, and Gabrielle Union will voice his wife Nala. The protagonist Kaio is played by Max Charles, who played the childhood version of Peter Parker in "The Amazing Spider-Man".
