CATDOLL: "Infinite Fafnir" special event: the story behind the scenes

The official website of the popular work "Infinite Fafnir" recently held a special event titled "Infinite Fafnir SPECIAL EVENT ~ Fafnir of Memories", and invited nine voice actors including Matsuoka Yoshitsugu, Hidaka Rina, Numakura Manami, Kanemoto Hisako, Tokui Aozora, Uchimura Fumiko, Sakura Ayane, Inoue Marina and Hayami Saori to the scene. And they are also the biggest guarantee to attract audiences to the scene.

There were discussions and concerts, and the event started off in a lively manner!

At the beginning of the event, the theme song "FLYING FAFNIR" sounded at the venue, and then Rina Hidaka (Iris Freya) and Manami Numakura (Monobe Fuzuki), who served as hosts today, appeared. Both of them played important roles in the main story, so their appearance immediately caused cheers from the audience. Then, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Monobe Yuu), Hisako Kanemoto (Lisa Hivoka), Aozora Tokui (Elera Lu), Fumiko Uchimura (Ren Miyazawa), Ayane Sakura (Tia Lightninger), Marina Inoue (Kili Surter Muspelheim), and Saori Hayami (Tachikawa Honoka) also appeared. These 9 people jointly opened the curtain of this event.

The first was a discussion session called "Memories of Fafnir Special Midgar Investigation Department!!" The voice actors answered questions prepared in advance and reviewed the world of the work. Faced with several questions, the voice actors also answered them separately, the specific contents are as follows:

Question 1: "Tell us about your feelings about the role you played"

The first person to answer this question was Matsuoka, the only male voice actor that day. He said, "Because he is in the military, he is a boy who observes his surroundings carefully. And the attitude of fighting against the adversity and fate he encounters makes people feel happy. Is he such a character? And I also feel that I should grow up quickly. After all, Yu-kun transferred to a school with only girls, so I have to show his mood." His answer also corresponded his current situation (there is only one male voice actor) with the character in the work. When Matsuoka was asked by women such as Hidaka, "How do you feel now?", he also commented with great difficulty: "Well, I am very restless now."

Next, Jin Yuan also talked about her role: "In a word, she is a good girl. Although she has many tsunderes, she pays great attention to the members of the class. She is also kind to Futsuki in a subtle way, and she has a motherly love for Tia. In short, she is a character with rich emotions." She thinks Lisa "is a clumsy child. So at the beginning, I thought she was just an ordinary tsundere, but as the plot progresses, I can feel her feelings towards others. Especially since Tia appeared, she also showed her motherly love, so I was very happy to perform."

Next is Uchimura's answer to Ren Miyazawa: "At first I couldn't figure out what this character was thinking. I had never thought about how to put emotion into every word, so I benefited a lot from it. During the audition stage, the lines were just 'hmm, hmm, hmm' (laughs). So at first I kept wondering what she was thinking, and slowly I was able to express her emotions in every word, and I was very happy about that." Because it is a character who doesn't talk much, Uchimura was very moved when she spoke for the first time: "She said 'good morning' when Tia-chan came out! That made me very happy!" This enthusiasm to express the excitement at the beginning also made her feel moved again. In addition, she also complained: "I'm afraid the most talkative part is in the preview of the next episode."

Question 2: "Did you have any stories when dubbing?"

Tokui was the first to answer this question: "It was my birthday during the recording, and everyone came to celebrate for me. I was surprised when I saw the cake, and this experience was very happy. I was born in December, so I thought that since my birthday is coming soon, I would have a good rest after the recording is finished, but I saw the cake, which was a big surprise." And this kind of surprise event seems to have happened more than once, as Sakura also received the same gift on her birthday (January 29).

Uchimura answered next, saying, "At first, Ren would only talk to Elera, so I would always go to Ms. Tokui to record." Finally, Hidaka, who served as the host, said, "Matsuoka-kun once took the initiative to talk to me. Usually I talk to him, and when Matsuoka-kun talks to me, I am very touched. In addition, he will liven up the atmosphere during the broadcast, and I feel that my relationship with him has become very good." Matsuoka also recalled, "The recording process was very fun. It takes a lot of time to record one episode, but the work is still progressing smoothly."

Question 3: "The stage of the work is a school, so what is the most memorable thing in your school days?"

Since the work is about school, the voice actors were asked about their school days. The first one to look back was Hayami, who said, "I performed in a musical at the school festival and was also a conductor in a choir competition. I also made pudding during the sports meet." This answer also shows her rich school life. The other voice actors responded, "I'm so envious" and "I really want to experience such a life." Hayami said, "It may be very fulfilling. I happen to be the character who has to sing in the musical, so I'm very happy."

Inoue later said, "We gathered like-minded people and then went to perform. When the program produced from scratch received good reviews, the satisfaction was indescribable. Although it was just something everyone did out of interest at the cultural festival, our team still aimed to win the 'Participating Group Award.' And after winning the award through the performance, I felt really happy. We did a good job in both content and details, so we were able to get this award, so we are all serious students." She also revealed that she attended a girls' high school and received chocolates on Valentine's Day, which caused cheers at the scene.

As for Matsuoka, he revealed, "After the school festival, all the students in our school went to the square near the school to hold a bonfire party and then danced." The women all said, "That's great~" and somehow it turned into a "Let's do a live dance" plot. Although Matsuoka was confused, he still performed for everyone under the enthusiasm of the audience. His wholehearted performance caused cheers and applause from everyone, and the scene was also surrounded by laughter.

Then, Uchimura said: "I was the deputy director of the Life Department, which is similar to the work of the Discipline Committee, providing life guidance to students. For example, obeying the rules, paying attention to clothing and going home time, etc. Looking back now, it can be said to be a valuable experience. Although it was a junior high school thing. I would stand at the school gate during school hours and give 'late letters' to those who were late." Someone asked: "Will you fight with bad boys?" Uchimura replied: "Because it's in the countryside, so no!" This kind of cartoon-like junior high school life made the audience exclaim: "So cool!"

The last person to look back on her school days was Sakura. She talked about her broken bones: "From the second grade of elementary school to junior high school, I broke bones about 8 times. For example, I fell down, and hurt my hand when I went to the gymnastics class. I also broke my bones during a school trip, which prevented me from dancing around the campfire!" When she said this, she looked at Matsuoka with anticipation, and Matsuoka performed a dance to make up for Sakura's regret.

Question 4: "If you were 'D', what abilities would you like to have?"

The last question involved "D", an indispensable existence in the worldview of the work. If you were "D", what abilities would you hope to have? Hayami was the first to speak: "The ability to communicate with things that you can't communicate with normally." Hidaka asked her: "What exactly is that?" Hayami explained: "Everything is fine. For example, if you can hear the sound of the chair you are sitting on now, wouldn't it be very happy? How about talking to plants? Although it's basically just one-sided talk from me, and the other party won't respond, but I believe that as long as you practice, they will speak. First, please start by looking at each other." Her words also caused laughter at the scene.

Next, Kim Won said, "I hope to have a power that can improve my memory." She explained, "I forget things easily, so I hope to have a good memory. It would be very rude to forget someone you have only met once. So I hope to be able to remember other people's faces and names. For example, I hope to remember the faces of everyone who is here today." The audience responded enthusiastically.

After talking about their works and personal matters, the guests temporarily left the stage, and a character song concert by Kanemoto, Uchimura, and Tokui soon began. They sang songs based on their own characters and won cheers from the audience.

First, Jin Yuan sang a song called "honesty", and the scene was covered with yellow light sticks that symbolized the character. Then when Uchimura sang "MOON NIGHT DREAM", she seemed a little nervous because it was her first time singing this song live, but everyone still waved red light sticks to cheer her on.

Finally, Tokui performed "Aigis". The scene was surrounded by green, and the audience's enthusiasm reached its climax. The whole concert was full of benefits and the audience was very excited.

Angel and Demon Trouble Counseling Room

After the concert, the event held another discussion session. However, this time it was not based on questions, but a live broadcast of the "Angel and Demon Trouble Consultation Room", and Uchimura, Hayami and Inoue served as guests to consult about troubles.

First of all, Uchimura's worry is "I'm confused whether to cut my hair or let it grow." Now she has short hair, but she used to have long black hair, so what to do in the future becomes a problem. To this, Sakura replied: "Cut it off! Then tie it up!" And Hidaka said: "If you grow your hair, you can make a variety of hairstyles." It can be seen that everyone's opinions are not consistent. As for the precious male opinions, Matsuoka asked: "Are you the kind of person who uses a hair dryer to blow dry your hair?" Uchimura said: "I rarely do that. I usually let it dry naturally." In the end, the conclusion is still for the person to judge for himself, so what opinion will she adopt? Please pay attention to the changes in Uchimura's hairstyle in the future.

The next person to raise a problem was Hayami. She said, "I have a rabbit named HOTATE, but I want to communicate with an animal that can't talk, so I talk to it. So should I use honorifics or not? I'm worried about this." After discussing this, the voice actors came to the conclusion that they should speak in an imperative tone. So it was decided that HOTATE would hear words of command in the future.

Finally, it was Inoue's worry: "I have two idol groups that I really like. I want to study them in the future, but which one should I focus on?" In fact, Inoue's favorite idol groups are "XXlive!" and "XX Master". Faced with this dilemma, Matsuoka gave a wonderful answer: "I don't think there is any need to target either one. After all, there is no difference between good and bad. So give love to both!" This excellent answer also won applause from the audience, so Inoue also said: "I will cheer for both!" A special drama created by the original author has been announced!

After the consultation, the 9 voice actors recorded the original story "Infinite Fafnir Special" prepared by the original author Tsukasa for this event. The timeline is the period when Tia and Honoka just transferred to the school. The voice actors performed with 4 microphones and added a lot of clever improvisations, which made the scene full of laughter.

After this special episode, smoke suddenly floated up from the scene, and then Hidaka and Numakura began to sing the ending song of the work, "Ray of Bullet", which was also the first time the song was released in a concert. The two spent a lot of effort to prepare for this performance. Accompanied by blue light sticks in the audience, their figures also pushed the atmosphere of the scene to a climax.

After these activities were over, a special lottery ceremony was held on site, and the performance came to an end. Finally, the voice actors gave their own speeches.

The climax of the event was when everyone sang "Ray of Bullet"!

Hisako Kanemoto: "Today, everyone is happy together, and I am also very happy. Lisa is the role I wanted to get when I auditioned, so I am very happy to be able to voice her.
