CATDOLL: NetEase Comics invests millions to create welfare plan for Chinese comic writers

On September 1, NetEase Comics announced that it would invest tens of millions of dollars to create an exclusive welfare plan for Chinese comics writers. NetEase Comics' welfare plan for Chinese comics writers will be launched on September 1, 2015, and will last for three years. According to the plan, the specific welfare plan for writers will be divided into five parts, covering reader recruitment, new work creation, creation speed, reader feedback and commercial sales, hoping to build a virtuous cycle for writers, readers and the commercial chain. Benefit 1: Monthly Ticket Reward

Each natural month is a cycle, and the settlement point is 24:00 on the last day of the month. The top 50 works on the monthly ticket list can receive monthly ticket rewards! Each monthly ticket reward is 0.5 yuan. The work ranked first on the monthly ticket list! Ten times the reward!

In each settlement cycle, if the writer's work ranks first on the monthly ticket list, the monthly ticket reward will be 10 times the normal reward! The second place is 5 times, and the third place is 3 times! (Note: For works that receive monthly ticket rewards, there must be no less than 20 pages of text updates in the month, and no less than 5 monthly tickets.)

Benefit 2: New Work Subsidy

To encourage more comics enthusiasts to start creating, NetEase Comics has launched a newcomer subsidy system. As long as the author publishes a new work on NetEase Comics and passes the editorial review, he or she will receive a 100 yuan subsidy reward from NetEase Comics. NetEase Comics will have 100 subsidy quotas every month, first come first served!

Benefit 3: Diligent Update Award

With each natural month as a cycle, all works that are exclusively or non-exclusively authorized by NetEase Comics (excluding contracted works) can receive update rewards from NetEase Comics as long as the author's work has more than 48 pages of content and publishes more than 12 pages of updated chapters within this month. Exclusively authorized works will receive a reward of 100 yuan for each updated chapter, and non-exclusively authorized works will receive a reward of 50 yuan for each updated chapter. (Note: A single work can receive a maximum of four update rewards in one cycle.)

Benefit 4: Quarterly Masterpiece Award

Starting from October 2015, the NetEase Comics editorial department will select all the exclusively authorized works published on the NetEase Comics platform every quarter, and select the three most outstanding works of the quarter! The prizes include: 1 Masterpiece Award: 5,000 yuan; 1 Popularity Award: 3,000 yuan; 1 Innovation Award: 1,000 yuan. Benefit 5: Zero threshold for sale

This award is for authors who do not want to be contracted authors on the NetEase Comics platform. From now until September 30, 2018, as long as the comic works published on NetEase Comics have no less than 3 chapters or no less than 60 pages of text, you can apply for listing on the platform in the author's backstage. After the editor reviews the author's personal information and the content of the work, it can be listed for sale.

For all works that have been successfully listed, the author can set the price for the content they upload. For all works that have been listed, the author can enjoy 100% of the sales revenue of the work on the NetEase Comics web and mobile client channels, as well as the click-through rate of VIP monthly users!

Special Notes

1) This plan will be implemented from September 1, 2015.

2) The author must comply with the relevant regulations of NetEase Comics and own the legal copyright of the work. If there is any illegal or breach of contract behavior, or if damage is caused to a third party, the responsibility for the damage shall be borne by the author, and NetEase Comics shall not bear any relevant responsibility. In addition, NetEase Comics has the right to revoke the qualification of illegal works to enjoy benefits and require the author to return all benefits received.

3) The tax and fees required for the welfare bonus shall be borne by the author, and NetEase Comics shall be responsible for withholding and paying the tax. For comic works submitted in the name of the company, the welfare bonus settlement cycle is one quarter, and invoices must be provided to receive the welfare bonus (if no invoice is provided, the welfare bonus will be forfeited by default). For comic works submitted in the name of an individual, the welfare bonus settlement cycle is one month.

4) Individual authors please use the [NetEase Email] account you used when opening your author account to open a NetEase Bao account. All the income you earn from NetEase Comics will be transferred to your NetEase Bao account.

To the extent permitted by law, NetEase Comics has the final right of interpretation of the above activities and this incentive plan.
