"Gantz" is a youth science fiction manga written by Japanese cartoonist Hiroya Oku. It was serialized in "Weekly YOUNG JUMP" in 2000 and ended in "Weekly YOUNG JUMP" No. 29 released on June 20, 2013. The cumulative circulation of the manga is over 19.9 million copies.

The story of "GANTZ" takes place in the mysterious world of "GANTZ". The protagonist is a high school student Kei Kurono. He and his friend Masaru Kato died in an accident while rescuing someone, but the story is not over yet. At the moment of death, they were teleported to a mysterious closed room. Through the window of the room, they can see the Tokyo Tower, but they cannot walk out of the room. In this room, they saw many people who should have died, including gangsters, PLMMs, office workers, politicians, etc. Have they all been reborn? It seems that everything is not the case. There is a black sphere in the middle of the room, which suddenly lights up and issues a command. The strange black sphere gives them a new life, but the price in exchange is that they complete the task of killing monsters. They start a life of killing like escaping in the cruel killing battlefield.
