CATDOLL: The actor who plays Light Yagami in the Japanese TV series "Death Note" won the "Japanese TV Series Academy Award"

Kubota Masataka's wonderful performance in "Death Note" was rated as "acting with only the eyes". He performed Kira's eyes with a ghostly and spooky courage, and as the plot progressed, the horror emanating from Kira became stronger and stronger, shocking countless audiences. And the list of winners of the "86th Japanese Drama Academy Award" was announced, defeating opponents such as Matsuyama Kenichi, Fukushi Seiji, and Suda Masaki, becoming this year's best actor.

After learning that he won the award, Kubota Masataka gave his acceptance speech: "This is the first time I have starred in a work with such great pressure. I faced the character head-on and opened up new ways of acting. Sometimes I can't think too much, otherwise I will lose, so the second half was much easier to act. I learned to stare at people in 3 months. Yue was originally a kind-hearted young man, why did he become Kira in the end? I have thought about this myself, so I have this acting skill. So the audience found it scary after seeing it, which is also a compliment to me. However, the atmosphere in the crew was very harmonious, and I had a lot of fun acting. Maybe it was because the atmosphere in the crew was so good that I could show the difference between Yue and Kira. After all, the original work is very famous, so you will definitely hear all kinds of voices. But because of this, everyone can work hard to shoot in unity. I can hold my chest high and say, 'This is the Japanese version of "Death Note."'"

The original manga of "Death Note" was co-created by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. It tells the story of Light Yagami, a high-IQ high school student who has a "Death Note" that can kill people without being seen, and gradually becomes a murderer, and the intellectual duel between him and the detective L who wants to arrest him. It was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from 2003 to 2006. The cumulative circulation of all 13 volumes of the single volume exceeded 30 million copies. It has also been adapted into TV animation, live-action movies, stage plays, etc. In the live-action Japanese drama version, Masataka Kubota plays the protagonist Light Yagami who has the Death Note, Kento Yamazaki plays the detective L who stands on the opposite side of Light Yagami, and Misao Yuki plays N whose reasoning ability is not inferior to L. The new movie version has been confirmed to be released in 2016, and the Hollywood live-action version is also in preparation.
